Valheim build cost calculator: total materials for a whole build
The build and craft cost calculator adds up the materials of every piece and item you plan and, when you ask, turns bars back into the ore and coal behind them. In the game the build menu shows the cost of one piece at a time. A forge corner with a Smelter, a Charcoal Kiln, a Forge, a Forge Cooler and twenty wood walls needs 44 Stone, 50 Wood, 25 Finewood, 16 Copper, 10 Surtling Core and 4 Coal.
What the game already shows
Hold the hammer and the build menu lists what the selected piece needs. At a crafting station the panel lists what one recipe needs for its next quality level. The game never adds those lists together or tells you how much ore and fuel a stack of bars will take, so most players write the numbers down piece by piece.
Add the pieces
Pick pieces from the same hammer tabs the game uses, or search for an item, and set how many you want. Items take a quality level, so an upgrade to quality 3 counts every level's materials. The material list updates as you type.

Expand to raw materials
Switch on Expand to raw materials and each crafted material turns into what it is made from. The Smelter makes one Copper from one Copper Ore and burns two Coal for each bar, so the forge corner's 16 Copper become 16 Copper Ore and 32 more Coal. The Charcoal Kiln makes one Coal from one Wood. When a material can come from more than one place, as Copper and Coal can, the calculator asks whether you gather it or make it at a station. Choose the Smelter and the Kiln and the whole corner comes to 86 Wood, 44 Stone, 25 Finewood, 16 Copper Ore and 10 Surtling Core.

Check the stations
The station list names the crafting station the plan is built beside and the level it needs. Every piece of the forge corner needs a Workbench at level 1, and you can set the level you already have.

The calculator keeps your last list in this browser, and the address bar holds the whole plan, so a shared link opens the same list for a friend.
